Max’s Story

A Journey of Resilience and Success

Max’s journey began as an 18-year-old emigrant from the former Soviet Union to the U.S. He initially worked in corporate accounting and finance but found it unfulfilling. Celebrating his “Freedom Day” from corporate America on July 3rd, 2002, Max transitioned to a family-run landscape maintenance business. Despite growing the business to $4 million, the 2008 recession and a lack of financial oversight led to bankruptcy.

Max’s Journey as an Entrepreneur

Turning Challenges Into Opportunities

Max restarted with a smaller landscape business, outsourcing bookkeeping and noticing significant discrepancies in the industry. Recognizing a market opportunity, Max and his team started BooXkeeping part-time in their garage while maintaining their landscape business to pay the bills.

BooXkeeping gradually became Max’s full-time focus, and he sold the landscape business. Today, BooXkeeping is the preferred bookkeeping vendor for notable franchise brands like FastSigns, Gameday Men’s Health, Sport Clips, and more.

“Hanging out with franchisors gave me the idea that I could become one of them myself,” said Max. Four years ago, he decided to franchise BooXkeeping. With nine franchise locations, one corporate location, and a booming industry, BooXkeeping is expanding rapidly. “Everybody needs bookkeeping services right now,” said Max. “After COVID-19, our brand became even more popular because people realized that taking care of these services themselves was a huge operation, especially with the economic slowdown. Many question the need for a full-time bookkeeper when much of the work can be outsourced more efficiently. That is where we come in.”

Launching Main Entrance Franchise Consulting

In 2022, Max became a Certified Franchise Executive (CFE), and in 2024, a Certified Franchise Consultant. These achievements led to the creation of Main Entrance Franchise Consulting, where Max helps others find and buy the perfect franchise or grow their existing businesses into successful franchises.
